As we enter February many people will still be battling with the promises they made at New Years and trying to maintain those difficult resolutions. A lot of people will have tasked themselves with quitting smoking or dropping a few pounds and despite having the most will in the world a lot of people may struggle even as the one month mark approaches.
Quitting Smoking
What a lot of people don’t recognize though is that things like quitting smoking can be incredibly tough, especially if you have been smoking for many years and it is a natural reaction to reach for the lighter. A lot of people will try and quit ‘cold turkey’ but this is bad as your body expects the nicotine and can make your life pretty terrible if it doesn’t get its way.

A lot of people go on diets at New Years; it is also the time of year that gyms get inundated with new members with good intentions. Losing weight isn’t going to happen overnight and so there are a few things you can get to help you see your progress, there are obviously the weighing scales but there are other items such as blood pressure monitors or BMI calculators. These items are going to help you track how much weight you’ve lost but also how much better your health is.
There are actually dietary supplements that can make claims that they can help you lose weight but whilst these can help they are not to be taken instead of a proper balanced diet. Many of these supplements actually state that this is a requirement and you will not see any positive results unless you eat correctly. Your doctor can help with suggestions and even could recommend a nutritionist who can give you some good meal suggestions that are healthy but also tasty.
