Vaccinosis - The Homeopathic Term of a Chronic Adverse Reaction to Vaccination
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 28th, 2011
The history of homeopathy is littered with eminent medical doctors who, in their desire to debunk it, have become some of its most ardent supporters.
Constantine Hering was the father of homeopathy in America. He was born in Germany in 1800 and migrated to the US in the 1830’s. He first approached homeopathy as a debunker, having been asked by his medical colleagues to write a paper condemning it. His research led him to become one of homeopathy’s most ardent supporters.
He wrote “My enthusiasm grew. I became a fanatic. I went about the country and got on tables to speak enthusiastically about homeopathy.”
Another sceptic who later became one of the greatest homeopaths was James Compton Burnett. He was a British homeopath in the late 1800’s and was among the first to notice that vaccines trigger chronic disease.
He ultimately wrote 24 books on homeopathy. He likened his own conversion experience to that of St Paul on the road to Damascus: he instantly resolved to “fight the good fight of homeopathy with all the power I possess. Were I to do less, I should be afraid to die.”
Burnett was a phenomenal doctor. He saw more patients in a day than seems possible. He kept copious notes and patient history. Just his case notes alone are a legend.
His book ‘Vaccinosis and its Cure by Thuja’ is part of every homeopathic student’s essential reading. In it he describes the term vaccinia (vacca? means cow) as ‘the febrile reaction which occurs after vaccination with special reference to the point where the pus is inserted’. In other words, this is in most cases, a short term or acute reaction.
However, he goes on to talk about vaccinosis, which he calls ‘the profound and often long lasting morbid constitutional state engendered by the vaccine virus’.
His extensive research into vaccinosis led him to discover that in many cases it was fatal and in other cases it created chronic symptoms. He believed that the upsurge in neuralgia was caused by vaccinosis.
Burnett discusses that when vaccinations are advocated, the only ill effects under consideration are the fatal ones. Yet, as he points out, mortality is only one effect of vaccination. To properly and scientifically understand vaccination, the morbility (those who ‘take’ the disease) and the morbidity (those who suffer ill health as a consequence) also need to be considered.
He mentions latent vaccinosis, or a vaccinate. This is someone who is suffering from vaccinosis, but is not ill in the ordinary sense. More, he is in a ’subdued morbid state, he has been blighted’.
When a vaccine has not ‘taken’, it is generally assumed that the individual cannot have any adverse reaction to the vaccine. Burnett thought otherwise. ‘Close and minute observations teaches me that such is by no means necessarily the case, for not a few persons date their ill health from a so-called unsuccessful vaccination.’
He asks the question ‘wherein does the protective power of vaccination consist?’ When a perfectly healthy person is vaccinated, it is considered he will be immune to the disease he was vaccinated against. Since the vaccination has created a ‘diseased’ state, he claims that ‘the protective power of vaccination is due to the diseased state’.
As he states, no one can be more than perfectly healthy. He struggled to find the logic behind the medical idea of creating protection by inducing a diseased state in a perfectly healthy individual. Others continue to struggle with the concept.
This little book presents case after successful case, often where he was at a loss to know what to do until he discovered the patient had been recently vaccinated.
Although the homeopathic remedy Thuja has an outstanding reputation is resolving many cases of vaccinosis (especially that created by smallpox), homeopaths the world over know that it is by no means the only remedy. Good though it is, Thuja is not able to resolve every case. Thankfully, there are other, equally effective homeopathic remedies for the condition.
Burnett was talking about cowpox/smallpox, more than 100 years ago, but you can’t help to wonder if the world has since made any medical progress in this area.
Buying the Best Radiology Equipment
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 28th, 2011
When buying any new equipment care needs to taken in what you are choosing. It is even more important when you are buying medical equipment. For example if you are buying some PACS imaging equipment for the radiology reading rooms then it is important to make sure that the budget you have is being spent wisely. It is very important to do a lot of research into making sure that the machines that you buy are the best ones for the job, last for a long time, be reliable and that they will offer good value for money.
It is a good idea spending a significant amount of time finding out about what is available. Look at the prices though, because budget is crucial and therefore anything above budget can be instantly dismissed, however good it looks. This should help make the decision making process easier. Once you have found all of the equipment in your price range, then it is a good idea to read reviews of those products. You should be able to find reviews on the Internet which will give you an idea of how reliable the equipment is, how long lasting and how easy to use.
These are really the main factors you should be using for choosing but it is important to look at all the features to make sure that it does what you currently need it to do and also have more things that you may like t start using in the future. It is important to try to look ahead and think about whether things will change, needs will grow and more use will be made of the machine. This is not an easy thing to do but if you make a good guess then that is the most important thing.
Make sure that when you are selecting the machine that you ask the users what they think. They might want something like X-Ray film recycling to be possible and this may mean that you have to change the machine you were decided on. There are a whole host of features that they might want and as it is for them that the machine is being bought then it is very important to listen to all of their suggestions. They may not all be possible but it is worth while doing that so the machine you
When the Acne Medicines Go Wrong
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 27th, 2011
Most common medicine for the treatment of acne is accutane. Acne can make you lose your minds. But can acne lead to suicide? Since 1982 just in America accutane was involved in more than 200 processes of deaths by suicide.
Accutane is produced by Roche and it is a very controversial drug and very popular. Before use accutane doctors ussually prescribe antibiotics such as tetracycline and minocycline.
In 2000, BJ, the son of Bart Stupak (Congressman in Michigan) killed himself while using accutane. Since that tragic moment, Stupak’s life purpose became to prove that accuntane can cause depression, suicide and birth defects.
The opinions are divided about the risk and the benefits of accutane. Some people believe that the drug is a miracle sent from heaven and they will do anything posible that accutane (isotretinoin) not to be withdrawn from the market. Accutane gives people confidence in oneself because can clear the skin.
If accutane leads to depression and suicide? That remains a big question. Constraing by FDA, Roche included depression in side effects list.
Let’s talk now about another case - similar with BJ, the Stupak’s son. It is about Liam the son of Liam Grant. Liam Grant is the Dublin accountant. Grant says that his son was very depressed after taking accutane - just before his tragic death.
In an attemt to demonstrate that accutane cause depression, Grant start a research and spent ?500,000. The investigations were conducted under the supervision of Douglas Bremner - doctor at the Emory University School of Medicine.
At the investigations dr. Bremmer selected 28 healthy people - women and men with ages between 18 and 50. Before and after using accutane dr. Bremner measured the brain function of his subjects. To do that thing he used PET. Dr. Bremner observed in an area of the brain a decreased brain metabolism and concluded that accutane can cause depression.
To prove that accutane causes depression more tests are necessary, but either FDA does not have enough money to continue the investigations of dr. Bremner.
If you don’t want to risk with accutane you can try Retin-A or a hormone therapy.

10 Things Everyone Should Know About Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 26th, 2011
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder used to be called ‘shell shock’. The condition was first recognised in soldiers returning from WW2 who had gone through shocking and overwhelming experiences at war.
Many of these soldiers had strong feelings of grief, anxiety and anger which wouldn’t go away, had flashbacks of horrific scenes and felt compelled to avoid anything associated with their traumatic experiences.
Since then, similar symptoms have been recorded in people who have never seen a battlefield, but who have nevertheless been through traumatic times, and doctors now know to look out for signs of ‘post traumatic stress disorder’ – a severe, ongoing reaction to a psychological trauma.
Here are ten things many people don’t realise about post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
1. The National Health Service now treats an estimated 220,000 people every year for PTSD
2. PTSD can be a devastating psychological illness, which can affect every part of a person’s life, including, work, friends and family
3. PTSD symptoms can include persistent flashbacks, nightmares, trouble sleeping and muscle tension as well as ongoing feelings of guilt, anger, depression and heightened anxiety
4. You are more likely to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder if you work in certain profession which are more exposed to traumatic scenes and experiences, such as paramedics, members of the police force, military personnel or fire fighters
5. Medication rarely cures PTSD, but is often used alongside counselling, which can involve discussion of memories and feelings about the trauma, to relieve symptoms
6. Group psychotherapy is often used in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder, and is considered by some experts to be the most beneficial kind of treatment for military personnel and veterans
7. PTSD can be caused by a range of different incidents, including car accidents, violent assault, being taken hostage, military combat, natural or man-made disasters and terrorist attacks
8. Two people could witness the same horrifying event at the same time, one of whom could show no signs of psychological trauma while the other goes on to suffer from full-blown PTSD
9. People suffering from PTSD may be able to make a claim for compensation, which could help with difficulties such as financial concerns due to loss of work
10. In the past, courts were reluctant to award compensation for sufferers of PTSD. However, as awareness increases, more and more successful PTSD claims are being made
Many people suffer with post traumatic stress disorder without realising they have the condition, but psychotherapy and some medicines may be able to help.
If you think you may be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, you should visit your doctor straight away to assess your symptoms and make a diagnosis.
If your PTSD was caused at work or was someone else’s fault, you may be able to make a successful claim for PTSD compensation.
Compensation amounts for PTSD claims vary greatly but the money could potentially help with lost earnings and the cost of your PTSD treatment. Seak to an expert today to find out if you could make a PTSD claim.
Can HGH Supplements Like Sytropin, Cloud Nine HGH, Genfx and GHR1000 Help With Sleep
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 26th, 2011
Sleep is a very important part of life. Most people do not get enough sleep. The hustle and bustle of life can become so overwhelming that sleep becomes the first sacrifice. Many people can admit that for whatever reason they do not get enough sleep and it affects not only the body but also the mind. Sleep allows the body to rest. Many people do not realize that while their body may be asleep their mind and other bodily functions are not. The sleep period allows the body to regroup and recharge. The number of people affected by sleep disorders continues to rise. Researchers recommend that an adult get between 8 and 10 hours of restful sleep per night but most adults do not get anywhere near that much sleep. As people are having to work longer hours to provide for their families, sleep is becoming more and more of a luxury.
When people do not get enough sleep they definitely can feel it. Most people lose some of their alertness as well as an overall lack of energy. This can lead to a decrease in work performance as well as an increase in the number of work related accidents. When people are not as alert, or even possible fall asleep on the job more accidents occur. They tend to hurt themselves or others because they are so tired. Memory capabilities are also affected. People are not able to think and function as well after an overall lack of sleep. With all of these results most people do not realize that perhaps the biggest downfall from a lack of sleep is the decrease in the production of HGH.
HGH is the human growth hormone and it controls the growth and regeneration of cells in the body. It is produced naturally in the pituitary gland and it automatically decreases its production as individual’s age. This decrease in production leads to things such as a decrease in energy. HGH is released by the body when individuals are asleep. It has been proven that while the body is asleep HGH is busy in production. It really is true that individuals “grow while they are sleep”. This is the best time for HGH production. While an individual sleeps they go through two phases REM and Non REM (NREM). REM which stands for Rapid Eye Movement is generally defined as the phase of sleep where dreaming occurs. During this particular phase of sleep small amounts of HGH is produced. This is the reason why after a night of tossing and turning or lots of dreams will leave the individuals tired and sluggish the next day. Non REM sleep refers to the deeper stage of REM sleep. During this stage of sleep the pituitary gland is busy at work manufacturing an abundance of HGH. The HGH release then follows a fairly distinct pattern. The HGH release is generally in line with the body’s brain waves. A large amount of HGH is generally released after a person falls asleep and it is released continuously throughout the whole night depending on the person’s sleep patterns.
Some people simply cannot sleep or cannot get the recommended amount of sleep so HGH supplements such as Cloud9 HGH, Genfx, Sytropin, Genf20, GHR1000, HGH Energizer and Provacyl may be an acceptable alternative for them. HGH injections are available but they are expensive, most require a prescription and are not covered by insurance. HGH supplements such as Cloud Nine HGH, Genfx and Provacyl can help an individual make up for the HGH that they are missing due to the lack of sleep.
Side Effects of Panic Disorder Medication
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 26th, 2011
Everyone is different when it comes to panic attack disorders.
The cause for one person may be completely different for another. No two cases are exactly alike. There are different treatment methods, including techniques that can be done at home.
If medication is the method that your doctor has decided to treat you with, you should be aware of the side effects that may occur. While the medication prescribed may have negative side effects it will have a set of benefits as well.
It is good to know what you may encounter before you begin taking any panic disorder medication.
Serotonin levels affect our mental state and the positive way that we feel. There are several medications that can be prescribed that boost serotonin levels. Some of these types of medications are Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil and Luvox. These have been known to reduce panic attacks by up to 85 percent. These are all pills that must be taken once a day.
As with any medication, allergic reactions are always a possibility. Rashes and swelling of the throat are symptoms that should not be ignored. Less serious side effects are dizziness, nausea, weight loss or gain and decreased sex drive.
A doctor should be contacted if symptoms of anxiety become worse with any medication.
Panic disorder medication that is used for the treatment of panic attacks does work. It can take up to eight weeks to feel the effects or as little as one week. You will start to notice that you can be in any situation without feeling scared that you are going to have an attack. Medication that is prescribed to aid in sleeping without having anxiety will work right away.
While most of the medicines prescribed for depression and anxiety will have side effects, they will normally be reduced in a couple of weeks. If panic disorder medication that is essential for you to function properly is discontinued you may have a difficult time coping. This should be done under the supervision of a doctor or psychotherapist so that they can help you with the transition.
It may take up to a year to begin feeling good without using medication. Realize that the road to living an anxiety free life will be a challenge that will be even more difficult without panic disorder medication.
There is hope, there is help, you just have to be willing to reach out and grab it.
How to Treat Ear Infections
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 25th, 2011
Most kids don’t need antibiotics for an ear infection. Most parents delay the antibiotic treatment for ear infections. This is due to the fact that recent studies of the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that almost 80% of children who are delayed in treatment of ear infections with antibiotics, are getting better without antibiotics.
It should be noted that many infections are actually simple ear aches.
In 2004 there appeared some guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics about ear infections and the treatment with antibiotics. Not all cases of infections need to be treated with antibiotics.
For most children the best choice to treat ear infections is Amoxicillin. Most of the time it is necessary and a drug for the ear pain.
There are many alternatives to amoxicillin if the child is allergic. Here is the list of the Amoxicillin alternatives: Vantin, Biaxin, Ceftin, Zithromax and Omnicef.
When the ear infection is accompanied with fever (more than 102.2 F) then is necessary to take Augmentin.
If after 72 hours there are no signs of improvement it is best to change the antibiotic. Remember that a high dose of augmentin does not involve any major risk and it is a best choice for the treatment of ear infections.
You may need to use antibiotics careless because a improper use can cause infections harder to treat. Antibiotics don’t cure the ear infections caused by viruses. Antibiotics have effects only on the ear infection caused only by bacteria. One more thing…if you use antibiotics more than prescribed, they can lead to some digestive disturbances and recurrent infections.
Types of Conjunctivitis
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on May 25th, 2011
Children contract a few medical problems that strike fear in the administrators and faculty of the schools they attend. One of these is conjunctivitis. Any time a student comes to school with an illness that is contagious, other students and teachers are sure to become infected. And the parents of the students who are not infected are going to be concerned and demanding that the school do something. Often there isn’t anything that can be done because the illness is already spreading. When a person has conjunctivitis, the conjunctiva or transparent membrane that lines the eyelids and the outer eye up to the edge of the cornea becomes inflamed. This is caused by an infection or an allergy.
Infectious conjunctivitis is highly contagious. It is spread by touching. The germ is on contaminated fingers, towels, and whatever else a person with the disease has touched. When the child or adult has infectious conjunctivitis, the white part of the eye turns red. This has given it the name of ‘pink eye.’ There will be a discharge of yellowish pus from the affected eye. Overnight, this discharge will form a crust. The eye also feels gritty.
There are two types of infectious conjunctivitis. One is caused by bacteria. The other is due to a virus. When caused by bacteria, both eyes are usually affected and the discharge of pus is very heavy. If the conjunctivitis is caused by a virus, it may be limited to one eye only and the discharge is very light. Parents who suspect a child has conjunctivitis should immediately take precautions to avoid spreading the infection. Be sure the child has a separate towel and washcloth. Encourage the child to avoid touching the eye. This will be difficult, as the eye will feel gritty. So insist on hand washing immediately following touching the eye. Parents do need to wash their hands if they have touched the child’s eye. Parents also need to consult a physician. If the conjunctivitis is a bacterial infection, medical treatment consists of bathing the affected eye or eyes with warm water to wash away any discharge. Then either eye drops or a topical ointment is applied to the eye. Viral infections usually go away on their own.
The form of conjunctivitis that is caused by an allergy is triggered by exposure to the allergen such as pollen. And if pollen is an allergen, this will be more severe during the hay fever season. In allergic conjunctivitis, the white of the eye is red and itches but no pus forms. If the person can identify the allergen, this form of conjunctivitis can often be avoided as a physician can often recommend an antihistamine medication or an over the counter drug that will relieve the inflammation. Another form of conjunctivitis, called ophthalmia neonatorum, may be present in babies up to three days old and is sometimes caught from the mother’s birth canal. Ophthalmia neonatorum can be serious and will be treated with some type of antibiotic eye drops.
