Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on January 04th, 2011
There are a wide number of people around the world who will only ignore that they are sweating a lot. I cannot blame them. We are sometimes too busy and we can just take so many other things for granted. But what if sweating becomes too excessive and it is already beyond normal?
Excessive sweating does not pose any abnormality depending on its occurrence. For example you are sweating a lot because you are doing tedious work like carrying heavy materials and are always moving. Well, it is normal that you will sweat a lot because of this. However, if excessive sweating is very frequent, then there is already a problem. Frequent excessive sweating in parts of the body like head, hands, feet and armpit can pose a problem. Excessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis.
Excessive sweating in the head (or your face) is a huge problem. I know, many will feel embarrassed and are always anxious because of this. Thus, it is important to cure it. Firstly, you should learn the root cause so that you can find the effective solution.
The Causes
Sweating is a normal process of our body. Sweat is excreted and released out of our body so that the temperature of our body will be regulated. This becomes a problem for some people when they sweat too much within normal conditions where other people will not even sweat a single drop. Among the reasons for hyperhidrosis is obesity. If a person is obese, he might also suffer from hyperhidrosis (e.g. facial hyperhidrosis). Women who are also in their menopausal stage may also suffer from it. Hyperhidrosis is also hereditary.
If you are having facial hyperhidrosis, it is important to consider recalling when you started to have it. If you have it since you were a kid, then try to trace your bloodline. For example, does your mother or father or any one in your family or relatives suffer from hyperhidrosis? Among other things that causes hyperhidrosis (e.g. facial hyperhidrosis), the following also triggers the problem:
•Excessive alcohol intake
•Thyroid disorder
The Remedies
Once you found out the cause of the problem, then it is easier to find the solution. For people who suffer facial hyperhidrosis (or any other types of hyperhidrosis) due to obesity then consider consulting your doctors. Some may give you prescribed medicines while other doctors may recommend surgery.
For people who face this problem because their thyroid has a disorder, then a good diet can be a solution. Home remedies can be used and are said to be effective. For example, you can use apple cider vinegar and tea extract (i.e. sage tea). You can also have a good diet by eating food rich in iodine.
Just continue to read a lot, research and consult medical professionals for a solution. Your knowledge can truly lead you to the solution that you are longing for. It is also very important to during a lot of fluids (especially water) so that it can replace the fluids lost in your body due to excessive sweating.
