There are many types of urology equipment used by surgeons and medical professionals to treat and examine the urinary tract. This is an extremely difficult area of the body to be treated because of its small size and sensitivity. Additionally, many of the organs are extremely delicate so treating and examining require the utmost care of the attending physician as well as excellent equipment to ensure the patient is as comfortable and well treated as they can be. Such equipment is absolutely necessary as there are no other methods to examine many parts of this area of the body such as the bladder.
Many patients experience some trouble with their urinary tract at some period in their lives. This can be caused by random accidents and infections, but may also be the result of a more serious condition. Whatever the cause, such a circumstance is often very painful to the patient. Medicine can be administered to this area of the body using a variety of tools, the most common of which is a catheter. These tools allow doctors and other medical professionals to move through the urinary tract to any degree. They are small tube that can be inserted simply and pushed through the tract. Often they are used for relieve the bladder of a patient, but they are often a vehicle for other procedures.
Often parts of the urinary tract are damaged or infected for a number of reasons and medicine needs to be administered. Specialized needles are attached to catheters in order to accomplish this and can be used in conjunction with many other tools as well. Additionally, inflated balloons (often going by many different names because of their particular shape), these products can be used to relieve the pressure on the bladder and to push blockages through the body.
Finally, a very common device used in many medical procedures is a form of ultrasonic machine that sends out waves of sound, which are used to break up blockages and especially kidney stones. These are highly specialized tools, which require extensive training to use. They can greatly improve the health and comfort of a patient and prevent a huge amount of surgery that was often needed to break up such blockages in the past.
Additionally, specialized observation and application devices are available as well for these particular areas of the body. Because the urinary tract often involves the genitals, it requires great care of behalf of the attending physician to examine these parts.
