All of us definitely hold our eyes important. For some of us, we may even consider it our greatest asset. But what if our eyes are not given the care they deserve to have? Unfortunately, our world today is just simply hard on our eyes. And we just cannot avoid it.

Wishing to say hello to younger looking, luminous, and healthy eyes? Do you need to bid bye-bye to the familiar awkward feeling due to the puffiness, dark circles and bags below your eyes?

The dark circles appear due to “brittle” capillaries and accumulation up of blood just below the skin surface, which happens as age advances. Although almost all of women are affected by this condition, the level of severity is dependent on skin tone and heredity. Races with fairer skin color hold more obvious dark circles. As age increases, the skin surrounding the area becomes finer, hence the higher in propensity towards visualization of dark circles. Weariness is also another popular cause of dark circles. Although it indirectly stimulates dark circles, it fosters dehydration thus leading to puffiness, and later on, showing up of the so-called dark circles.

Despite the various methods and tips usually suggested for the remedy of dark under eye circles, the most frequent method today are the under eye creams, which I will talk about in this article. Because of huge availability in the market, under eye creams are an easy answer for dark under eyes today. Just be extra careful on choosing the right cream. Or else it will not work benefits for you and your skin.

But then, how would one know which is which? Ideally, the best product would have to be economical and of course, effective. However, every business wishing to make money would of course have its motives directed to earn. Therefore, you need to be a wise buyer. One of the most frequent points in finding the working treatment involves searching at the factors before application. The ingredients must be effective in cell regeneration. Haloxyl, a compound in eye creams, is a high profile, cellular-concentrated ingredient aiming to subdue pigmentation, concurrently making the capillary walls proximal to the eye area thicker and with a lesser propensity to leak. Thicker vascular walls allow reinforcement of structural integrity of the skin under the eyes. While this may be indispensable in assuring effectivity of eye creams, it does not determine an intelligent purchase. Cellular regeneration can be carried through by a lot of other ingredients, and cases such as these stem cells nonetheless continue as the supreme solution for cell regeneration. If there are products that combine and reconstitute both haloxyl and stem cells in dark under eye circle removal to perform an additive effect, then these products may be the best response to your problem. Apart from that, the best eye products are typically in gel form - gels are easily absorbed when compared to creams or serums. Delivery of the active ingredient to the skin’s tissues is more concentrated in gels, resulting to an effective intervention to a greater extent.

Swine Flu: Myths and Misconceptions

Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on October 09th, 2010

The swine flu pandemic has given rise to all sorts of myths and misconceptions. On the one hand, many believe it is no different from a normal bout of flu, and merits little concern; on the other, some have worried that it will be as devastating as the influenza pandemics of 1918-19, which claimed almost as many lives as the world war which preceded it.

The reality lies somewhere between these two extremes. Swine flu is a genuine threat (it has claimed almost 8,000 lives worldwide), but it causes only mild problems in the majority of people it infects, and the risk of infection is limited provided you take proper precautions. This article aims to help you understand the origins and symptoms of swine flu, giving you all the information you need for complete peace of mind.

Where has it come from?

The current swine flu pandemic is not the first global outbreak of swine influenza - in fact there was a major outbreak as long ago as 1918, when pigs suffered almost as much as humans during the post-war health crisis. However the 2009 pandemic is a new strain, and is in fact a hybrid of five different flu viruses: North American avian influenza, human influenza, North American swine influenza and two swine influenza viruses typically found in Europe and Asia. The strain has both Eurasian and North American genes, suggesting it evolved through international travel and contact between sufferers of different viruses.

The outbreak is believed to have begun on factory farms in Veracruz, Mexico, although there is evidence that it first arose among Asian pigs before being transported to America in a human host. When the virus first came to prominence in March this year, the Mexicans tried desperately to keep a lid on it; however there was little they could do to counter the reality of daily global travel and constant cross-border migration, and the virus spread rapidly. In June, less than three months after the Mexicans noticed the virus, the World Health Organisaton declared swine flu a pandemic.

Thankfully, it now seems that swine flu virus activity may have peaked in the US and some European countries - however other countries are still reporting sharp increases, so we`re definitely not out of the woods.

What are the Symptoms

Even if you have the virus, there is a strong likelihood you will experience only mild symptoms; these include fever, sore throat, coughing, vomiting nausea or diarrhea. In the majority of cases, the virus will have passed within six days.

However, if you are currently pregnant, or suffer from asthma, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, pneumonia or neurodevelopmental conditions, your susceptibility increases sharply. Swine flu can cause severe health problems for people in these health brackets, so, if you do fall into one of these categories, it`s best to take proactive measures.

What do I do if I have it?

If you are showing mild symptoms, such as coughing, sore throat or diarrhea, there`s little you can do but shut your doors, close your windows and sit it out at home. It`s not as severe as the plagues of the seventeenth century, where the authorities barricaded the infected inside their homes and daubed red crosses on their doors; but you will have a better chance of stopping the spread of your symptoms if you stay away from crowded places such as gyms, shopping malls, bars, clubs and restaurants. And you`ve got an excuse to get out of school or work - every cloud has a silver lining!

If you are starting to feel more severe symptoms, or if you more vulnerable to the virus for the reasons given above, it is recommended that you seek out a course of anti-virals and antibiotics straight away; oseltamivir or zanamivir are highly recommended.

How do I stop it spreading to me?

There is no protection against seasonal flu by existing vaccines. A recent study made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that children had no preexisting immunity to the new strain however adults had some degree of immunity, particularly those over 60.

However a number of vaccines are available for swine flu: these include Pandemrix, ACAM-FLU-A, Fluzone, Influvac, Live attenuated (FluMist) and Optaflu. Consult your doctor or pharmacist to source the best available solution.

A storm is gathering today in our brave new world. It’s as though we’re being forced to draw the line to a new threat - an assault on the blood of our children. This is not just a figure of speech. New vaccines are being invented every year, all with the same hope - to be included in the mandated Immunization Schedule. It’s very big money. Today we’re up to 68 vaccines mandated for use before a child is eighteen. But infant mortality rates and the health of our children are appalling. The incidence of both infectious diseases and degenerative diseases among Americans is skyrocketing.

Declining health among school children is obvious. Ritalin, Prozac, antidepressants, and inhalers are rampant in our schools. Despite the highest intake of antibiotics and vaccines of any group of children in history, our kids are fatter, sicker, and dumber than ever before.

OPTING OUT. A growing number of medical researchers and doctors disagree with the 68 vaccinations that children are required to get. Many parents are opting out by signing exemption forms. They’re drawing the line. They’re saying, if nothing else is sacred in this world, at least the blood of our children should not be subject to the whims of politics and big money. The sanctity of human blood. That bloodstream should only be violated in life-threatening situations. And never with anything experimental or unproven or dangerous.

Most of what is written about the subject insists that vaccines are safe, effective, and necessary. We hear how modern civilization has been saved from the ravages of infectious disease by the intervention of miraculous vaccines. We hear how important it is for children to get their shots so they’ll be safe from disease, etc. We keep hearing about new vaccines that are supposedly necessary to defend against new diseases.

Ultimately the defense of a child’s bloodstream resides with the parent. Knowing what the reader now knows about the way in which decisions are made about how a vaccine gets mandated in children’s bloodstreams - what can we reasonably expect from a body of legislators controlled by the biggest of the special interest lobbies? Do we rely on them for sound judgment about what is to be injected into the most delicate and sensitive medium in the universe - the formative human circulatory system?

Real protection has to begin with information - sound information, not propaganda. With vaccines, we must learn about the ingredients, the culture media, the testing involved, the politics and economics involved, the actual anatomy and physiology of infants. And the information must come not only from those making their living selling vaccines.

This is not an anti-vaccine plead. This plead is in favor of any vaccines that have been scientifically tested and found to be absolutely effective, with no chance of harm to the recipient. Human health does not come from a drug or a vaccine or an insurance company. A healthy baby needs no outside assistance, no tampering with the blood. The mysteries of health lie within the body, not within the medical texts, or the writs of law.

Pure, uncontaminated human blood is indeed a sacred commodity. We will arrive at a position of profound gratitude when we finally come to appreciate the identity, the oneness, the nobility of an inviolate bloodstream.
