Even though low BP or hypotension is consider as nature’s gift, because it is safe to all the internal organs (where us high blood pressure damages heart, kidney, etc). Still its symptoms are not bearable and it affects our regular activities and thus needs treatment at-least to stop hypotension symptoms.
Blood pressure
Certain nominal pressure is needed to circulate the blood in to the body to supply nutrient and oxygen for energy. Normally it is indicated by two numbers diastolic over systolic. Systolic during heart contracts and diastolic during heart dilates (rest).
If these pressure drops below certain range causes many annoying hypotension symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue, fainting, palpitation and etc.
Low BP range
The range that is considered to be low is as below:
- Systolic lower than 90 mmHg or
- Diastolic lower than 60 mmHg
If any one of the number is lower than the above said range then it is considered as low BP.
If these annoying symptoms occur, then you need treatments. First try to overcome these symptoms by following lifestyle changes or hypotension lifestyle guidelines. Lifestyle guidelines are just few smart food choices and certain healthy exercises to normalize the blood pressure and stop annoying symptoms.
Low pressure Medicines
Even after following lifestyle guidelines, the BP is not normal or if the low BP is very low in the danger zone then it is a must to take conventional medications based on the low blood pressure causes and symptoms. Some of the most commonly prescribed medications for hypotension treatments are:
- Fludrocortisone,
- Midodrine,
- Pyridostigmine,
- Caffeine,
- Erythropoietin,
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
