Pampering Wrinkles Away the Natural Way
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine on January 30th, 2010
With most wrinkles being caused by general dryness of the skin and lack of flexibility in many facial muscles it makes sense to relax completely and pamper your wrinkles away.
The best start that you can make to pamper your wrinkles away is to enjoy a whole body relaxation massage – at the end of a perfect relaxation massage you will feel relaxed and calm from your toes up to the back of your scalp, and if you have included a full facial massage, you will feel perfectly serene and calm. Light massage oil, used around the face will take away any dryness and leave your skin glowing, soft and supple. An alternative way to relax the body is to take a warm spa bath or a hot tub, into which you can put herbal mixtures, or sea salts, or fragrances if you prefer. Putting bath oils in the water will soften your skin and help to reduce wrinkles by moisturizing and cleansing the skin. To complete the relaxing effect of either a massage or a bath, some people will choose to surround themselves with candlelight – and play soft and soothing music. More and more people today are actively seeking ways in which to completely relax and get away from the stress of the day and the more that you can feel relaxed in your body and in your mind, there is less chance of wrinkles becoming ingrained and more chance that they will even go away completely.
An holistic approach to pampering wrinkles away would include pampering yourself with the right kinds of food that are rich in nutritious oils, and a variety of vegetables and fruit to ensure that you get enough vitamins and minerals in your diet.
Exercise of a moderate kind, such as walking, yoga, or tai chi is stimulating to the body, increases the heart rate, tones up the muscles and assists with good digestion – exercise is also known to be effective as an anti-depressant. People who may feel depressed, angry or lethargic often suffer from a range of physical skin conditions related to repressed emotions and general inactivity. If habitual facial expressions are of a depressive kind, the face is less mobile than usual and rigid muscles can form lines and wrinkles easily in facial expressions which occur in only a limited range – with few real smiles or outward expressions of joy.
It can help to reduce wrinkles and lines if you pamper yourself and do something to uplift your spirits and that will make you feel happy. If you feel depleted and exhausted, you can take a break at wellness centers that can offer specialized treatments such as reiki, reflexology, aromatherapies and plenty of relaxation, or take a cruise where you can relax and enjoy on board beauty treatments, fitness programs and sunbathe by the pool. Even if you have to work and have family responsibilities you can still take time out from the day to do something special for yourself – that will make you feel pampered and relaxed and help to keep stress and wrinkles at bay. Regular pampering is not a bad thing to do, it restores your sense of happiness and will make you feel good about yourself and the way you look. Feeling good about yourself gives improved confidence and enthusiasm to tackle even the most difficult problems, and pampering yourself does not need to take up a lot of time or cost a lot of money to be effective.
