8 Easy Tips For Treating Acne

Do not wash your face too often. It is a common misconception that we could wash the acne away. But washing the face to often only dries the skin out and this results in the production of more sebum (oil), which causes more acne. Experts recommend twice daily as being sufficient.

Avoid harsh Soaps and Cleansers. Harsh soaps and cleansers strip the skin of its natural oils and thus cause further irritations. The best thing to do is to use a mild, npn-comedogenic (will not clog pores), hypo-allergenic and soap free cleanser.

Avoid Cleansers that contain Alcohol. Alcohol has the ability to change the natural ph level of the skin, which more often than not can leads to irritations While using toners and astringents give the face a good cool feeling over use will irritate the skin.

Avoid Squeezing: If you want those deeply embedded blackheads removed see a trained professional. Squeezing only leads to you transferring more bacteria to an already sensitive zit…so don’t squeeze.

Reduce your intake of sugar. Sweets, processed flour, baked goods, and Trans or hydrogenated fats for example donuts, cookies, pastry, ice cream, pies, etc do make your acne get worse. My recommendation is that you use a natural sweetener instead, like honey. Give up those sodas and energy drinks, and switch to water, herbal teas, and vegetable juices instead.

Increase water consumption. Drink 2-3 glasses of cold water immediately after you wake up and brush your teeth in the morning. This will improve blood circulation to vital organs and also help in bowel motions. Drink 10-15 glasses of water per day, double the amount in hot weather. Plenty of fresh water not only helps you to maintain the health of your body and skin, it will also improve your brain and other vital organs’ functions. Essentially keep the body free of toxins.

Get your Magnesium. Magnesium is helpful because it helps in reducing stress and thus reduces the formation of the extra hormones, which triggers the sebaceous gland to produce extra sebum (oil) which causes acne. Some magnesium rich foods are green vegetables, bananas, potatoes and seafood’s.

Sleep. You might think that this is crazy but when you do not sleep you body functions at a higher stress level and is more toxic since most of the detoxification process occurs when you sleep. So get your beauty sleep.

And now you are thinking that even if you did all of the above the acne still will not go away. And probably you are right, and in your case the condition is genetic. Therefore, like me you need a little help. What your body needs is that something that would help your skin keep its balance of oils. And I know that if you have had acne for a long time you probably have tried them all but I promise that after fifteen years of acne problems and several visits to the dermatologist I know what works….wouldn’t you like to know also, visit my lens at EFFECTIVE ACNE TREATMENTS.
