Prescription Sleep Medicine
One-Diagnosis-Fits-All Medicine
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
Here’s the scene: You go to the doctor dragging your patooty behind you.
Your body got fat, but your hair got thin. Overwhelmed by a whole new definition of tired, you find yourself doing beached whale impressions while life goes to pot. Well, who could cope anyway? For all you know, your brain left town. And is it normal to wear an overcoat to bed to keep warm?
The doctor nods sagely and announces his on-the-spot, one-size-fits-all diagnosis: Depression.
As he grabs for his prescription pad, you demur. Just a little. After all, he’s the doctor. But you explain that you’re happy with your life. The problem is not enough energy to enjoy it more.
Ever see a doctor change his pronouncements? Me either. You get a prescription for an antidepressant.
It doesn’t work, of course, Your problem isn’t depression; it’s a thyroid gland that can’t get its act together.
Most, if not all, thyroid patients experience this scenario. Maybe multiple times.
Or perhaps you go to the doctor with somewhat different symptoms. Still tired. In fact, with a fatigue beyond your darkest nightmare. A pea-soup London fog took over your brain some time back. And you’re spending a big chunk of your time in the bathroom, dealing with diarrhea and bleeding.
This time the antidepressant prescription comes with a recommendation to get a less stressful job. Don’t bother protesting how much you love your job; the doctor has spoken.
Again, the antidepressant doesn’t lay a glove on what’s going on with your body. How can it? A gluten intolerance is about avoiding grains, not balancing your brain’s serotonin.
And so it goes. If you have celiac disease or non-celiac gluten intolerance, you probably also have a file folder crammed with antidepressant prescriptions.
Doctors go on about practicing scientific, evidence-based medicine, but most medicine arises from opinions and past practices, however misguided. 70% of medicine-or more-lacks any provable, scientific basis.
Maybe that’s why doctors love the depression diagnosis so. Depression is real, of course, but the diagnosis of depression, ah, now that’s a wide-open door. No tests. No fixed criteria. Anything goes. A best guess sort of thing, don’t you know. Best of all, it herds patients through quickly, all paying as they leave.
And have you heard the latest? Based on zero evidence of a problem, doctors want legislation to require all pregnant women to undergo a test for depression. In the theory, apparently, that pregnancy can’t possibly be a happy state. The planned “test” seems to be no more than the doctor’s opinion. Still no proven, factual tests or criteria. Even worse, no studies on what antidepressant medications will do to the baby.
Will they get their way? Well, a lot of people go for the Gardasil scam even though we’re maiming and killing young girls for a very dubious, at best, benefit. And a whole bunch more are on the statin bandwagon, despite the fact the cholesterol-causes-heart-disease train left the station long since, and damage estimates continue to mount. Not to mention the annual flu shot foolishness; flu shots have zilch effect on the flu, but they set people over 50 up for dementia big time. I could go on. Examples abound.
Sad to say, nobody expresses any concern about what health disaster could result from this latest brainstorm, pregnancy-equals-depression legislation. This one could outdo autism.
Sure will push a lot of pills, though.
New Silver Solution - How it Works in the Human Body
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
Silver’s Attack Strategy
The only patented Silver Solution is manufactured by American Biotech Labs in Utah and is licensed for distribution by Nutronix International and its army of distributors. The product itself now has hundreds of independent research lab reports and clinical study results that span the globe.
Each study conducted has backed up the anecdotal claims of thousands of people who have been using this particular silver product for several years. It has been tested, verified and now established as an outstanding ‘first’ line of defense for families as an immune-system enhancer and as a way to treat many types of common medical emergencies such as strep-throat, infections, scrapes, influenzas, colds, stings, mosquito bites and even malaria. It is also a product that I will keep in great supply with me if I am hospital-ridden to prevent infections, MRSA, SARS and other types of super-bugs that have evolved over the years.
This article will explore how the patented form of the New Silver Solution actually works in the human body to defeat so many different kinds of pathogens.
It is only recently that researchers have begun to understand exactly how the silver sol particles created by the patented manufacturing methods developed by ABL interact with the human body to allow it to achieve the outstanding results that have been reported in recent controlled clinical studies.
Silver sol particles are small enough it seems to be absorbed into a single red blood cell. Pure silver is supercharged and uniquely surrounded by an ionic (charge-carrying) chemical shell called silver oxide that is missing two electrons. The missing two electrons are the key to its effectiveness.
This silver ionic shell of each silver nano-sized particle tries to become complete by getting back the two missing electrons. As a result, each particle attaches to the thin cell walls of every type of pathogen (pathogenic cell walls are always very thin) it has been tested against to date in order to restore its two missing electrons. The pathogens’ thin cell walls are what allows the silver oxide particle to easily suck or attract one or two electrons from the pathogen. Removing electrons from a pathogen leaves a hole in the pathogen’s cell membrane and destroys the structure of the pathogen thus rendering it harmless.
Normal cells have thicker, more protected cell membranes that have a balanced charge, allowing a kind of selective protection from the silver particle’s oxide coating that is such an effective but selective killer of harmful bacteria on contact. That’s why the silver particles do not harm the good bacteria in the gut - only the bad bacteria - in its search and absorb tactic.
There is another way that this particular new silver solution destroys pathogens in addition to the physical intrusion into the pathogens’ cell structure. It is well-known that all matter in the universe resonates at various frequencies. Silver has been measured and found to resonate at 890 to 910 terahertz. This happens to be the same frequency at which germicidal ultraviolet light resonates. Picture nano-sized silver particles small enough to be absorbed into red blood cells and resonating at the perfect frequency to destroy bacteria, viruses and yeast. These tiny particles disinfect from the inside out as they circulate through every capillary in the body.
Virtually every cell in the human body has a sugar-like coating to communicate with one another. The coating lets a cell tell the difference between friendly cells and pathogenic cells. Silver nano-particles have a ‘friendly’ sugar coating that allows it to communicate in a positive way with all cells. When a pathogenic cell arrives, the silver nano-particle is welcomed into it. Once inside, the silver attacks the abnormal cell before the cell has a chance to replicate.
Finally, researchers have discovered another silver-particle attack mechanism - A virus is made up of a capsid containing partial segments of DNA and RNA. The DNA segments carry a small magnetic charge.
There is a kind of claw that viruses have that lets the virus hang on to healthy cells. Once attached to a healthy cell, it injects its partial DNA segment into the healthy cell damaging the normal DNA and causing the cell to reproduce in random spurts - often very rapidly and abnormally.
This is what causes influenzas, hepatitis, and cervical cancers. The new supercharged silver nano-particle works however like a magnet that attracts the charged DNA partial segments of the virus before the viruses get a chance to attach to the healthy cells with their claws and inject the abnormal DNA into the healthy cell.
The DNA really seems to like the silver because it binds so tightly to the silver that it creates a random tangled ball of yarn - genetic material made from the partial DNA segments. It gets so tangled that it can never straighten out and thus can never replicate.
he result is the inactivation of the virus preventing its spread through the human body. Normal cells as mentioned earlier have thicker cell walls that are better protected and that have a balanced charge protecting them from silver’s magnetic attraction properties.
Researchers in labs across the world are busy studying the mechanisms described above. We can all be grateful however that the attack mechanisms of this newly created supercharged silver nano-particle solution work so well against the pathogens that have become so dangerous to humans. These pathogens have been forced to evolve and adapt to survive the many cocktails of antibiotics developed by well-meaning researchers and product-developers.
There is no natural adaptive or defense mechanism bacteria and viruses can use to adjust to the attack mechanisms of the supercharged nano-particles of the new silver solution. It is of course too early to tell if this silver product will replace all of the traditional medications and antibiotics prescribed by doctors around the world. More clinical studies need to be conducted.
What is known however, is that when the new silver solution is taken with traditional courses of antibiotics, it creates a synergistic effect - in essence making the antibiotics more powerful and effective than when they are taken in isolation without the addition of silver solution.
This means then that we can take this product with our current regime of medications (with the approval of your doctor of course) and perhaps benefit more from our medications.

Flawless Skin With PIXEL LASER
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
Pixel laser utilizes non ablative erbium laser to produce millions of pixellate burns. it leaves intervening normal areas to produce a GRID like pattern, the advantage of this being that the interveing areas allow very rapid healing with almost no scars. it is almost painless, very comfortable, does not require simultaneous skin cooling (in fact the laser hand piece includes a surface tip cooling device, which is sufficient).
most people who undergo a PIXEl do so for
1. facial rejuvenation
2. acne and chicken pox pits
3. small areas of hyperpigmenation
4. as a quick facial before a social function
5. for improvement of scars anywhere in the body
the best results are derived on areas where, there are many acne and chicken pox scars. The device can be used to decrease the pit and allow simultaneous facial resurfacing. the new skin tends to cover the areas of the scar and the shouldering effect reduces the visibility of the scars. in addition the fresh skin over the scars makes that scar less visible
important precautions after a PIXEL are to avoid sunlight for 4-5 days, and liberal use of sunscreen every 4-6 hourly (usually SPF < 26 is ok for normal skin which is not very fair. for very fair skin we would advise higher SPF. if the skin is very oily, or prone to acne, then maybe SPF 15 or thereabouts is required.
after a pixel, it takes 4-5 days for peeling to occur, reast assured this is a benign process, and this then allows fresh and soft skin to replace the overlying dead skin above. we advise 3-4 sessions of PIXEL laser spaced every 3-4 weeks apart for best effects. the effects of a PIXEL would last for more than an year, and touch ups may be required after that. the average cost of a PIXEL session, particularly over the face is about 250$, with a package of around 800$ for the whole treatment.
Stem Cells - A Primer For Us All - Part 3
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
This is the third in a series of articles about a subject that enriched my life. My hope is that a better understanding of health issues will lead to your life enrichment as well.
To recap, we have learned that stem cells are required for the growth and development of all cells in the body. We learned that Embryonic Stem cells (ES) are derived from fertilized eggs; and Embryonic Germ cells (EG) are naturally derived from the germ layer of tissue. A third type of stem cell derived from mesenchymal tissue is known as induced Pluripotent Stem cell (iPS). These Adult Stem Cells have shown amazing ability to correct many debilitating, often chronic diseases.
Many questions arise when the topic of stem cells is discussed.\r
What is the procedure for stem cell treatments?\r
Are there any complications to stem cell treatments?\r
How are stem cells able to seek out and repair the damage?\r
How long does it take for stem cells to work?\r
Are there things I should know about that would either enhance or negate this therapy? \r
Where can I obtain stem cell therapy?\r
What can I expect post-treatment with stem cells?
Perhaps a way to answer all these questions is by giving you some case studies. While they may be anecdotal in nature, and not scientifically designed double-blinded, placebo-controlled crossover studies as scientists prefer, nevertheless they represent actual cases performed at recognized medical centers around the world. Keep in mind as you read this, the goal of stem cell therapy is to provide a better Quality of Life.
Autism\r
A nine year-old girl and a teen-age boy, both from Florida, had been diagnosed at an early age with Autism. They shared similar traits: speech deficit, lack of desire to associate with other people, unresponsive to certain stimuli, at times lashing out to caregivers. After nine treatments with stem cells taken from her own body, the little girl spoke to her mom for the first time, and is now attending regular school classes. After several treatments with iPS cells the teen-age boy is now communicating, playing sports, attending school, and is actively seeking out friends for the first time in his life.
Cerebral Palsy\r
Imagine a male infant that cries all the time–only stopping to catch a breath. After much testing the infant was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. At eighteen months the child only showed the development of an eight-month old. Having banked the child’s umbilical cord was the best thing that could have happened. After just five treatments with the child’s own cord cells he spoke his first word: “momma”. Three months after the treatments the little boy was walking all over his home using a walker. The best part of this story is the fact that the fits of crying and screaming have been replaced with laughter.
Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure\r
Patients do not always respond so quickly to stem cells as this next patient had. Before treatment this male patient exhibited all the signs of imminent heart failure: elevated blood pressure, shortness of breath so severe that he had to sleep sitting up in a chair, dizziness, anger over the inability to walk any distance, or work at his chosen vocation and hobbies. His laboratory findings corroborated all the outward signs: a previous heart attack with damage to the left ventricle, an enlarged heart, three main coronary arteries blocked, and a mitral valve that was minimally functioning. After receiving two treatments with stem cells taken from his own body along with cells harvested from umbilical cord from a healthy mother, the patient could walk again some distance without getting dizzy or winded!
After three more treatments this patient went home to work on a project that had sat for four years; he re-lumbered a 24 foot by 24 foot deck. The latest of tests confirmed that the heart parameters had returned to near normal.
Organ Transplantation\r
As reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, five patients have received bone marrow cells (mesenchymal tissue) along with kidney transplants, and at least four of the patients has not required anti-rejection drugs for a period of five years.
Advanced Kidney Cancer\r
A specific type of stem cell therapy has led to the shrinking of a patient’s metastatic renal cell carcinoma (has gone beyond the original kidney tumor). The researchers found that donor (allogeneic) T cells (from lymph) target specific tumor cells. This is groundbreaking research. We can only hope that such studies will ultimately lead to the eradication of all cancers.
The cases reported above are admittedly dramatic examples of the benefit that stem cell therapy brought to those patients. Not all cases respond as they have, as each of us is unique, and brings their own genetics, illness, body chemistry, and biases.
I would like to give you some advice on how to gain the ultimate experience from stem cell therapy. Following these simple do s’ and don’t s’ before attempting treatment with stem cells will help you to obtain the best Quality of Life possible:
Avoid alcoholic beverages (including flavored pre-mixes);\r
Limit or abstain from smoking as nicotine interferes with stem cells;\r
Do take vitamins and minerals, but limit the amount of Zinc as this mineral interferes with many lab tests;\r
If at all possible, avoid Bismuth compounds (Pepto-Bismol), antiseptics for the urinary tract (AZO), Sulfa drugs and other antibiotics at least ten days prior to stem cell therapy;\r
Avoid certain herbal teas such as Gentian, Ginseng, or Kava Kava as these may interfere with any laboratory findings;
Do bring a positive attitude to your treatment sessions. It really helps.
There will be more on this topic in Part 4 of our series. We’ll cover those items that may actually enhance the activity of the stem cells. We’ll also take you through an actual stem cell treatment.
Facts About ADHD Medications Doctors Never Mention
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
One of the most respected researchers on ADHD, William Pelham has now come out strongly against ADHD medications and asserts that research shows they are practically useless in the long term. This is just one of the facts about ADHD medications which may or may not get publicity, depending whose website you happen to be visiting. He also claims that fellow scientists were unwilling to acknowledge that there was evidence which showed that the usefulness of ADHD medications was somewhat limited over a number of years.
Alarmed by the number of doctors giving psychostimulants and antipsychotic drugs to children with ADHD which was not strictly necessary, the state of Florida decided to ask the doctors to go through a review process. The number of prescriptions dropped dramatically in a year. When the situation was getting out of hand, the authorities found that 23 babies less than a year old had been prescribed antipsychotics ! With e review process in place, the number dropped to zero last year. Why do you think that facts about ADHD medications like these are not given wider coverage in other States or in the media?
Why do you think that the FDA has a warning on the front page of their website which states very clearly that the drug companies must issue what they coyly call ‘Medication Guides’? These guides are to warn patients that psychotic events and/or cardiovascular risks have been linked to the ADHD medications. There are no such warnings or risky side effects with ADHD natural cures.
The other facts about ADHD medications that parents want to know is what are the long term effects on the neural development of their children. One of the most alarming facts about ADHD medications is that nobody knows exactly how they work on the brain transmitters which control our impulses, moods and concentration. So, we have drugs which are basically mind altering ones (they are a sophisticated dose of ’speed’ in many cases) which have not been studied for their effects in the long term development of children generally. Loss of appetite, stunted growth and anxiety are all linked to the ADHD medications, yet the number of prescriptions seems to be spiralling out of control. Facts on ADHD meds tend to get a very patchy coverage.
Wiser parents are not going to be taken in by this state of affairs much longer. They now know, no thanks to Big Pharm, that there are alternative therapies available. They now know that a combination of ADHD behavioral therapy with proper home and school support will work wonders.
With a natural cure, this will work even better, given that the side effects are non-existent. Facts on ADHD meds will always be censured to a certain degree as long as we have a flourishing drugs industry.
Medication For Aids
Posted by sleepyguy in Prescription Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorder on April 24th, 2009
A variety of medications is now available to combat the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) yet no single medicine to-date is effective when taken alone and none of them provide a cure. Combinations of HIV medications are valuable in controlling the amount of virus in the body as well as maintaining the health of the body’s immune system.
The medications that are currently available come in 5 different classes and each works in a different way and oftentimes at different stages of the condition to limit HIV from multiplying. These core classes are Nucleoside/Nucleotide Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTIs), Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs), Protease Inhibitors (PIs), entry inhibitors and integrase inhibitors.
NRTIs work to provide defective raw material to HIV as it tries to build replication systems in body cells. An example is Emtriva (emtricitabine). NNRTIs work to provide incorrect blueprints for HIV as it tries to order the replication process. An example is Sustiva (efavirenz). PIs work to provide defective parts to each new HIV as it is assembled. An example is Reyataz (atazanavir). Entry inhibitors work to prevent HIV from entering body cells. An example is Fuzeon (enfuvirtide). Integrase inhibitors work to prevent HIV that has already entered body cells from inserting code into body cell DNA. An example is Isentress (raltegravir).
Different combinations of medication from these classes make up the treatment regime known as Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy (HAART).
No single combination of medications in HAART has proven to be best for everyone and treatment benefit is often optimized from selecting a suitable combination after having compared the advantages and disadvantages of the medications within the classes involved. The most common class combinations prescribed at the beginning of HIV treatment are either an NNRTI in combination with two NRTIs or the combination of a PPI with two NRTIs. PPIs can act as boosters, increasing the power of the other medications in the treatment regime.
The choice of HAART regimen should be discussed in detail with the prescribing doctor and often hinges on several key issues that include how powerful the initial combination is, whether there is preservation of other future combinations should there be resistance to the initially chosen one, what side effects are likely to occur, how many pills need to be taken and how often these pills are to be taken.
High cholesterol and poorer blood sugar control have been known to result from taking different PIs, NRTIs and other HIV medications. The newer medications however, may be less likely to contribute to such problems. Most NRTIs also have been known to cause a build up of lactic acid that can result in nausea, vomiting and liver damage. Some NRTIs may damage the nervous system resulting in tingling, burning and numbness in the hands and feet. Many HIV medications cause diarrhea and stomach upset especially at the start of treatment. Depression, anxiety and unusual dreams have been known to occur with NNRTIs and other HIV medications although these usually do not last for long. An experienced HIV specialist is usually the best person to consult with should any unusual symptoms be experienced from taking HIV medication. It is useful to note that the majority of side effects encountered do not last beyond the first 2 months of starting treatment.
HAART medications are known to interact with a variety of other non-AIDS medications and such interactions should be discussed if other medications are concurrently taken. Medications in any HAART regime can also be costly especially if they are branded. Generics of such medications can be found in various countries and as they become more available, are a good means of reducing the cost of treatment. Generic AIDS medications often cost only a fraction of their branded counterparts.
An experienced HIV medication expert should be consulted and can be invaluable in facilitating the decision on initiating and maintaining a safe and cost-effective medication regime.
